Online 3D printing made in France: how to check where your part is produced

Intermediate platform or own workshop: the real difference

On the web, two models coexist behind the expression "online 3D printing":

• Marketplaces receive your file and pass it on to a partner printer. The price is often low, but the place of manufacture, quality and delay depend on the printer selected, which is not always in France.
• The workshops themselves make in their premises. You know who prints, where, and on what machines.

"Delivery in France" does not mean "made in France". The mention that counts is that of the workshop: its address, its registration and its machines.

How to check if a service is actually manufactured in France (checklist)

1. A workshop address published in the legal notice or on the contact page, and not just a post office box or a domiciliation.
2. A SIREN or a verifiable SIRET on directory-entreprises.data.gouv.fr, attached to a manufacturing activity.
3. The list of machines and technologies used on site (FDM, SLA resin, SLS, MJF...), with the maximum printing dimensions.
4. Photos of the workshop and actual pieces, and not pictures of the image bank.
5. An expedition from a French city, visible on the tracking of the package.
6. A contact person available on site for technical questions (tolerances, material, orientation).
7. A label when it exists: 3DKfactory displays for example "Origine France Garantie". A label is not mandatory, but it is a proof provided by a third party.

Our workshop in the Var: machines, technologies, deadlines

• Location: 160 m2 workshop at 80 Place Gabriel Péri, 83470 Seillons-Source-d'Argens (Var, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region). The company, Timelapse 3D SAS, has its head office in the same town (314 Peade de la Mule); SIREN 990 467 839, SIRET 990 467 839 00017, RCS Draguignan (see our Legal notices and the page About the workshop).
• Park: more than 20 machines in permanent operation, production 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, emergencies treated as a priority.
• Technologies: Multi-material FDM, SLA resin for detail and surface rendering, large format. The Bambu Lab H2D prints parts up to about 60 cm and up to 8 colours. We do not offer SLS or MJF on our own.
• Materials: PLA (more than 50 colours), PETG, ABS/ASA, flexible TPU, nylon, carbon fiber (Nylon CF / PLA CF), PLA wood or marble, resin. Which material to choose.
• 3D scan: Creaform MetraScan Y Pro industrial scanner, accuracy 0.1 mm, file delivered in STL or STEP.
• Deadline: Most orders are shipped within 48 to 72 hours. A priority production option in 24 hours is offered at the time of the order; it adds about 30% to the manufacturing price.
• Quantities: from 1 to 500 pieces per order from the Studio, beyond on quotation.
• Subcontracting: the parts ordered on this site are printed in this workshop. We do not go through a network of printers partners.

Where others do better than us

• For large series and powder processes (SLS, MJF), or for ISO 13485 certification in the medical field: Sculpteo and 3DKfactory are better equipped. We do not offer SLS or MJF on our own.
• For very large pieces in one piece: 3DKfactory announces 1 m3, while our large format goes up to about 60 cm.
• For a third-party label: 3DKfactory displays Origine France Garantie. We do not have a label of this type: our proofs are the address of the workshop, the SIRET and the photos above.
• For generation by AI: Bee 3D also offers a generation from a text or an image.

Where Timelapse-3D stands out

Prices and delivery in France

The price is displayed in the Studio before payment. It depends on the material, volume, machine time, finish, time and quantity (see our guide how much does a 3D printing cost). Delivery is made by Colissimo everywhere in metropolitan France from Seillons-Source-d'Argens, from 5,90 TTC depending on the weight of the package, and the minimum order is 10 TTC.

These amounts vary with the exact geometry of your file: the preparation of the order (slicing, adjustment, control) is counted only once, which makes the identical parts cheaper per unit as soon as the quantity increases.

From the file, or idea, to the delivered part

1. You have a STL or 3MF file: import it into the Studio, choose the material, quantity, finish and time, then pay. The procedure to follow is detailed on the page 3D printing online.
2. You only have one idea: describe the room with its dimensions in the AI 3D Studio, adjust the dimensions, and then start printing.
3. You have a broken part: read replacement parts in 3D printing, then make a request for 3D scanning.
