Architecture models in 3D printing

Houses, buildings, monuments, dioramas: 3D printing gives clear and faithful models, from your 3D file. The matte white highlights the volumes; the resin brings the finest details (menueries, railings).

What material for a model?

  • PLA white or grey: the classic, economical and very sharp choice on the edges.
  • Resin: for small scales and very fine details.
  • Multicolored PLA: to distinguish roofs, facades and vegetation.

Large models in several parts

A larger model than the tray is cut into a kit in the Studio: each piece is printed separately and then assembled with modeled fasteners. Advanced Tools.

Prepare the file

Export your model in STL or 3MF from your software. Check the thickness of the walls and thin elements at the chosen scale: too thin, they do not print. The guide Preparing a STL or 3MF file details the points to check.

Frequently asked questions

What is the minimum thickness for the walls?

In filament printing (FDM), provide walls of at least 1.2 mm on the scale of the model; the resin allows for finer elements.

Can we paint the model?

Yes: choose the paint finish in the workshop, or a clean finish to paint it yourself.
