Sell your models

Sell your 3D models on the marketplace

A model created in the Studio, or an STL or 3MF file you designed yourself, can be published on the Timelapse-3D marketplace. It gets its own product page, which can be found through the site search and on Google. You set the price and the licence; buyers download it or have it printed in our workshop.

Publish in a few steps

  1. Presentation: title and description (pre-filled from the model).
  2. Visibility: tags, category and photos of the printed object.
  3. Licence and price: what the buyer is allowed to do, free or for credits.
  4. Publication: summary and a statement that you hold the rights to the model.

In the Studio, use a model’s “Sell” button or the padlock on its thumbnail in the Library. For an existing file, use “Publish a model” on the marketplace. A confirmed email address is required.

Pricing and earnings

A model is free or sold for between 10 and 2,000 credits. On each sale, the platform commission is 20%: you receive 80% of the price in credits.

Your earned credits can be used in three ways:

  • Generations: create and edit your models in the Studio.
  • Print orders: have your models printed in the Timelapse workshop. Coming soon.
  • Payout in euros: coming soon, on request and with no minimum, at a rate of 1 earned credit = €0.02. Only credits earned from sales on the marketplace can be converted. Documents required: IBAN, legal status, SIRET and VAT number.

Remix: original creators get paid

A marketplace model can be edited in the Studio and republished if its licence allows it. It is then shown as a remix, with a link to the original. When a remix is sold, 10% of the price goes to the creator of the original model; it is deducted from the seller’s share.

Remove a model

You can remove a model from the marketplace at any time (the planet icon on its thumbnail in the Library). Buyers keep access to the files they have purchased.

Frequently asked questions

How much do I earn from a sale?

80% of the price in credits, to use for generations, and soon for print orders or a payout in euros on request. For a remix, 10% of the price goes to the creator of the original and is deducted from those 80%, so you keep 70% of the price.

Can I publish for free?

Yes: a free model attracts more views, favourites and followers.

Can I sell a file under a Creative Commons licence?

No: Creative Commons licences allow the file to be redistributed for free. To sell, choose Personal use or Commercial use of prints.

Who can publish?
